94 Celica GT : rear wheels locked up on me - 6G Celicas Forums

Hey guys, this might be a dumb question but how do we check our cars if our rear wheels are locked up? My rear wheels are locked up after letting it sit in the garage for too long with the e-brake up. While jacking up my car and putting it in neutral, the front spins freely but the rear wheels are locked up. This is my first time, where should I start looking for first?
This happened to me once - not sure where you are in this world, but after sitting for so long in the elements, my e-brake had formed a bond with the inside of the rotor. I had to do some serious banging with a hammer to try and loosen them off. You could also try removing the rotor (mind you, I'm assuming you have disk brakes on all 4 wheels - you haven't really given any details), and that process should loosen the grip that the e-brake has to the rotor surface.

Thanks Kaos. Took your advice and its working again. Yeah, I have disk brakes on all 4 wheels.
when my ford escape came in the container the rear wheels were locked up only the right one though...put it in 4wd and after dragging 1 meter it moved...we also beat the **** out of it

What I think when you think I care
id soak the inside of the drums with some penetration oil like PB blaster and try to drive it a few feet (in reverse would put more pressure) it shuld break it free... then u can spray it with brake cleaner to get the oil off ur rotors
