So I was under my car doing something early this week and I noticed a two wire sensor on the bottom of the radiator. I've never noticed it before. It's an odd place for a water temp sending unit because the water would be cooler in this part of it's cycle, so I don't think it's a water temp sending unit. Sending units are usually on the water outlet side of the engine with the rad fan switch and whatever else. Anyone know what this is?

its a temp switch for the fans.

ok, so what are the other two sensors on the water outlet side of the block? I always thought that the one pin sensor was the fan switch, and the two pin sensor was is a temp sending unit.

one is for the dash gauge, the other is for the ECU.

he is right
(for a GT.)
the 2 pin in the rad is for your fans
the 2 pin on the water neck is for your ecu
the 1 pin on the water neck is for your gauge
(for an ST)
the 2 pin on the water neck is for youe ecu
the 1 pin on the water neck is the fan switch
the 1 pin on the water pump exit pipe is for your gauge

thanks a lot man, whne I found the one on the rad I thought I had wired something wrong into the Autronic. I couldn't find a good wire diagram so I had wired everything in thinking the two pin on the water neck was from the ecu for temp, and the 1 pin on the water neck was the fan switch for the radiator. Turns out, everything is wired right after all. The one I thought was for the fan switch is for the gauge, and I can leave the one on the radiator untouched.
