Throwing Code 25 - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #79844 7 posts Started by captb
of the possible things that could throw a code 25 (vacuum leak, oxygen sensor, etc.) what will cause a car to stall? I want to rule out some things that i dont need to check/replace.

Like many others i've been having this same problem for some time now. my car would run for days and suddenly just randomly turn off, sometimes it just starts back up, sometimes i have to wait an hour to start up. So far i have replaced the distributor, rotor and cap, fuel pump, fuel filter (twice), cleaned the throttle boddy, did a fuel system flush and most recently replaced the ecu. So far it has been running fine for the past 2 days but just recently the engine light came on and it came up as code 25. I thought for sure after i replaced all the fuel system components it was the ecu because of how random the stalling occurs. Also, this is the first time my car is giving me codes since the problem happened making me think even more that the old ecu was bad. and again, it hasnt stalled since i replaced the ecu, so far just the code.

all help is appreciated. Thanks.

Edit: i forgot to add that when it dies/stalls all the electrical remains. And it doesnt jerk, it just turns off.

Lately I've haerd alot about people needing to replace theirs, and I've also been pointed in the direction of replacing my ECU..

Mike aka luka has my spare igniter module and I have a spare ECU lmk if you need to borrow them.

oh and Joel, code 25 is telling you your car is running a lean Air/Fuel Ratio. I would try and find someone with a fuel pressure tester.

****
Fuel line pressure (injector leak, blockage)
Open or short in injector circuit
Timing issue, belt going or skipping teeth
Foreign object caught in valve I hope not...
...and worth a try/look at: Water temp. sensor

oh ya, i already replaced the igniter module. and i can feel the pressure from the fuel line. so the pump is working, not sure if something is still obstructing it though.
WHY ARE YOU UP SOOO EARLY!!!!! Rofl...........you have me up early and thinking too

seek out a f/p tester though, same thing a friend SW20, also a regular at my store. ended up being the f/p regulator, leaking injector, and something else i cant remember
