Front Rotor questionssssss - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #80328 6 posts Started by mmmchocolate
Searched for awhile, couldnt find what i need....

my question is,

when i go to replace my rotors, do i have to remove the bearings and ****, or does the rotor just slide off...per say?

A work in (extremely slow) progress
Remove the calipers and the rotors should just come off. Might need some light banging in case there is any rust, but with no tire or caliper to hold it on that rotor should slip right off.

Good luck wink.gif

you have to take the whole bracket off, not just the caliper tongue.gif

What bracket are you talking about??

The caliper bracket. AKA torque plate.

Bare caliper is the hydraulic portion only. Semi-loaded caliper is caliper and bracket. Fully-loaded caliper is caliper, caliper bracket, and pads.

Easiest way to get to the rotor is to remove the bracket from the knuckle, since the caliper attaches to the bracket. Make sure not to leave the caliper assembly hanging by the hose, find something to rest it on or string it up to keep the tension off the flex line.
