There are a few threads already on the ECU code which complains about the turbo cooler pump being disconnected but I think mine is a little more specific and did not want to jump onto people's threads and taking them off topic.

On the other thread (thanks ) I managed to find the plug thankfully...I was expecting it to be just the bare plug....but no...correct me if I am wrong but smeone has already attempted the plug mod:




But! I still get code 54! Which suggests that this mod that someone has done is incorrect? Can someone have a look at the pic and see if that is right? Is there any way that I can test it?

the level sensor is usually the problem. Did you bridge the connection ?

Yep thats the plug mod already done.
check the intercooler level sensor is bridged.

Yup the intercooler level sensor has already been bridged. Well, assuming I have found it correctly. It is located near to where the top mount cooler would have been.

There is also this plug, which is down by the exhaust downpipe...looks very similar to the above plug and is not plugged into anything - perhaps is the exhaust temperature plug...is it important?

Yeah the level sensor has been bridged already also.

Im guessing it was off a JDM car (aus ones are slightly different, not sure about pommy ones)

could be a cat temp sensor, or one for a post cat oxy sensor, thermo fan switch (bottom radiator sensor), could have been for air con.

Yup it's a complete JDM car not jsut the engine ouut of one - its a ST205 GT4 JDM 1995

aircon still works...could be cat I suppose!

Just a quick bump...can anyone shed any light if the above plug looks like it has been wired correctly? Is there a way of testing that it is doing it's job correctly?

did this mod to a friends car, used 1.2kohms hook up the exact same way and bridged the water sensor connector worked fine, check the resistance on the resistors to make sure none is bad i guess. Good Luck
