I have been trying to think of a way to enable my Fog Lights to turn on ithout having my headlights on. I wonder if anyone can help me with this. Hopefully I don't have to go through a lot of funky rewiring with extra switches n stuff. I would just like to be able to hit the fog light switch without the headlights. Any help would be GREATLY apprieciated! THNX

Yeah what he said, or even run ur own power from the batery...then you can turn them on by themselves.

OK, sounds easy enough. Now, got a really dumb question. (god i'm such a NOOB at this)....Where exactly is the power source for the fog lights?
I'm pretty sure that the power to the foglights comes from the battery and ties in after the headlight relay. If I don't know where this is physically, but an easy, down and dirty fix, is to just splice form some always hot lead (from the battery) to the foglight wires. Make sure to throw a fuse in if you do that. I've got my manual at home (finals ends on friday though) so if you still need help, I can scan in a few of the pages with the wiring diagrams and stuff. send me an email or PM on saturday to remind me if you need it.
A word of caution: Having them turn off with the headlights is a really good feature. Without that feautre, sometime you might be just driving around with them on onstead of the headlights blah blah blah. Anyways. I spent a ton of time, when I put mine in (had to do all custom work, they weren't exactly made for a celi) and i put extra time into making sure they were tied into the headlight relay. Its your call. let me know if you need the pages!

Do you want them to turn on with the parking lights(Which I highly recommend...then they still turn off with the auto-off feature) or do you want to be able to turn them on without the parking lights on? Either way, I can give you directions. You'll need a SPDT automotive relay, which you can find at your local auto parts store, some wire, a soldering iron and solder(I highly recommend not using crimp connectors under the hood, as water can easily get into them.) Just let me know, and I'll do my best to help. >

with my fog lights, i have a switch in my dash console. i wired the foglights to the ignition 1 wire so i can turn them on or off without the lights on and if the switch is on, thye will automatically turn off when you take the key out. i always ran down the battery bc i forgot the fogs were on, so if you connect your lights to a always hot with a switch, you might drain down your battery on accident
