Thanks for replies folks. So far it seems everyone who simply whats to participate already answered and the rest just do not care (or do not have enough time or looking for the source or maybe... do not have the picture in high-res at all). I just starting to believe to take winning pictures of COTM is not best idea at all because there is no rule the winning picture must be available in high resolution as well. Anyway to move thing forward...

1) to minimize risk there is no high res-photo available we can make calendar (not necessary all months, just some if needed) like this:



Two or maybe even more smaller pictures of the car. Yes I took inspiration in UK... see the GT4OC.NET calendar example:



2) if you want to see calendar in your hands before Christmas we do not have much time to waste!

- 24th of December delivered all around the world (America, Europe, Australia) it must be send a month before to be sure everyone has it by the Christmass at home.
- To have it 24th of November ready it must be send to printing company 10days before... that is 14th of November.
- It is nice to have a week reserve in case anything happens... so deadline for all pictures prepared 7th of November.
- 1st of November we should know for 100% this calendar happens to be able to start collecting money (and give everyone 14days for successful Paypal transaction)

In those two weeks I must have enough pictures to be able to create 12+1 pages to print in sufficient resolution. I really no not want blurry or pixelate pictures in there... this calendar do not deserve it. So...

If we really want this calendar happens I need pictures. And What I'm really afraid of I will not collect even 12 from all COTM winners. That is why I would suggest if I do not receive them to ask anyone here to provide picture for calendar. In case there are more (than just few to fill calendar) people interested to be in there lets make it like UK guys and place more different cars at one page.

OK... I'm not giving this up. Few more people wrote me and confirmed they send pictures. For example thanks to Timmyface's enthusiasm I have more than just one or two pictures I can use... so here is another option (my favorite):



Four pictures, one selected as "main" (according to layout). No matter about aspect ratio... all can be used and designed in many ways. It keeps COTM picture there (even if not in proper resolution because it can be used as smaller picture) plus any 3 other of the same car. The "main" one should be the biggest res as possible... see another example:



What you think? Only what I need is 12+1 people who agree to send me pictures i can use... I prefer already selected COTM winners but if there is no interest (not 12+1 pictures collected) let anyone to participate to fill all 12months.

I believe this is the chance to have one of the best calendars made. Just need few more really good looking pictures from people here.

You know my thoughts on this so I have an abundant amount of photos i can use, so i'm set
I may even go get similar images in the same area, so it looks more of a set like yours

If thats the deal (which im quiet liking atm) whats the average size of the photo area, so i can have a fiddle with different layouts etc.

Thank you for support... another one who do not want calendar fail has send tons of material to me today . Thanks to this I can show how big is the potential of this calendar. From simple to combination 3 or 4 pictures for any page

I know I don't look at the general discussion a whole lot because I get so caught up in B/S, project, engine/maint. etc. that I never make it to this part of the forum. I almost didn't see it.... for like weeks. So maybe we should see what we can do about spreading the word. I.e. you should put a feeler up in the buy/sell

Agree to the letter... but for this I need more pictures to goose. For example TRDGT4 has send me 8 high resolution pictures so had pretty free hands for any layout I can imagine. The same with Timmyface. Thanks to his topic with pictures I had like 10 images to use (for smaller pictures is 1024x768 enough). That is why I really like Timmy's layout with 4 pictures. Layout used with my pictures is very hard because are needed panoramic pictures from two different angles (and even my self I have those just a few). So more pictures in higher resolutions I have more options of layout I can use.

Some updates in terms of the calendar:
- According to "Message Tracker" still four COTm winners not ever read my first request about pictures. IMO we can forget they participate (because of any reason)
- I have pictures to fill six months
- I have another four COTM winners that confirmed they are interested (but so far have not received pictures)
- If we ask new next month COTM there is possible another one...

Still there is one month and cover picture missing. That means would need two more interested anyway to make this happen. We will see in a week what happens. I do not want let down anyone who send pictures so far but without enough pictures available from others there is no sense to continue.

btw.: today I have ordered Celica Club Czech Republic calendar 2012. It will be ready in 10 days from now because printing company is too busy with other orders. Another reason to not waste time with waiting.

Ricochet asks me to send you pics. How big do you need? Most of the pics I have are on the internet, taken by others arent super hi-res. Even my own pics I can't access as i'm in south korea for a while.

To be specific, I know you are looking for cotm winners. But if this is a 6gc.net calendar, shouldn't it be made of the coolest cars we have, even if they haven't won cotm? I think a rally celi like his, breathing the true blood of these things, should be eligible. How awesome would it be to have visible evidence of the awd in full action on dirt? My .02

I'm sure malpasso is all for it, but he is after high res photos for a reason. So there's not a single blurry or out of place looking photo. I'm sure if czwalga had a high res looking photo it'd get used.

Most of the photos being used are/looks like professional photography.
I doubt malpasso would want to throw in a low res, grainy dirt picture in the mix, unless it was a professional looking photo.

But, the way it seems to be going, any photos are of help.

Situation is like this. First idea was to make calendar only with pictures from COTM winners. Unfortunately:

- Not even half of COTM winers send me picture of the car so far
- Not all COTM winning picture are made in high resolution...

So I have looked at old calendars I have and realized QUALITY OF PICTURE MATTERS! So I really need to send to printer company 12 months + cover sheet at 3508x2480 pixels. Not less. No blurry pictures. No pixelate pictures.

From now I do not care if picture I receive is COTM winner or not. I take ANY good looking pictures in maximum resolution as possible. It is not important if there is one 3508x2480 picture or 4x 1600x1200 once. Together it must be 3508x2480. That is why I prefer to receive more pictures and taken from more angles to not make it boring. Of course if there is more than 12+1 interested priority has COTM winner. That is all.

EDIT: to let you understand better... Here is one example. I have received pictures from salv as COTM winner. He has send three pictures at resolution 1024x678... so his page on calendar would look like this:

I feel like the picture wont actually look THAT bad. It's very very zoomed in here. We don't need that kind of close up do we? with that image being the entire car, I don't think it would be THAT bad.

To me, if it means having a calendar with some great cars means that a few months have to suffer in the quality, then so be it. But his other pictures just as you showed them there didn't look terrible as they sat on my screen. and as i walk past this every day, I'm not going to stop and think, wow, what a semi-grainy pic that is on my wall that I can't even tell the difference unless I stop and stare... ya know?

especially if we do the multiple shot look - the resolution doesn't need to be as high for that... (3 on the side, one in the middle)

I still hope for response from some people so believe we fill those two missing months. I have asked at least four people with valuable pictures and photography skills so... we are close to the successful end!

Backup plan is fill those two months and cover with any of available picture. Or I can use some picture I made during PECM or GT-Four driver's Club meeting but I really prefer everyone in there agree to be in calendar. Here is an example:

It is a shame that some of the good Cotm photos aren't high res or giving a reply.
I'm liking the one of Marco's as a backup. And the layout of the 'calendar' one looks sweet. Liljoes is a bit out of place as a large interior imo.

Both simply MUST exist in high resolution because picture like this you just can not make by cell phone . Unfortunately I have not received anything from them so far.

- Good thing about Marco is he is in fact COTM winner so even if his picture is not in high resolution I can use my pieces .

- Lil-Joe101 has good pictures and want them to send me but so far his mail deny to cooperate . So I still believe I receive better material from him.

- I do not want to disappoint anyone deny his pictures so from now I do not ask anyone for any picture. Reason is I did that last two weeks and now will only wait till Sunday for results. Than we will see where we are...

Lil Joe, try sending multiple smaller emails to Martin.
When I reached over 15mb I think it was, it wouldn't send.

So send a few emails with 1 or 2 images, and see if that helps.

And yeah, I wanted to see Nammers, Ricos etc.
