My 97` T20 smells pretty strong of gas for quite a while after driving. The smell increases with the amount of gas in the tank. And if its more than half-full, it smells all day long. The weird thing is that it looks like the leak comes from the top of the tank, and i can see traces of gas running down the rear side of the tank. There's barely, if any, traces of gas on the ground where to car has been parked.

Could it be the fuel pump or fuel lines? How can i check this? I've replaced the filler pipe, so that's not the problem.

fuel lines leak. check all fuel lines from tank to filter and injectors.

pull the back seat, remove the oval access panel, and take a look.
