I'm glad you like my Celica haha. I've been trying to build her clean and sensible, but fun to drive.

What year is your Celica? Did you allow the switch to ground properly? It does ground through the block, so if you teflon wrap the threads, you're actually messing up that ground. Does the light come on at all when you turn the switch in the beginning, before you actually turn the car on? Also, make sure you didn't bump any wires from the O2 sensors (I did that once and it came unplugged) and that all of your vac hoses are connected (only OBDII will read this though).

If it's OBDII, I'd suggest going to a place like Advance Auto Parts or Autozone and use their MIL scanner. They'll run you through how to use it or they will come out and do it for you. That at least will give you an idea of what's going on. OBDI, do some research and grab a paper clip because it's not as easy.

Not sure why you got new probs with a CEL and the oil light failing. All I did for mine was simply remove the oil sending unit from the head, put the t in, then screw both the mech. gauge and oem oil sending unit into the t and that was it. Everything worked and has been working flawlessly ever since. Oh yeah, I did un-hook my battery during the process just to be on the 'safe side'.

it might be worth your time to clean the threads try ot fix what you think the problem might be and just clear the cel and see if it comes back. instead of taking hours to figure out how to check it in the first place.
yea since I have to pull it back out to put the t in yet that probably what ill do
hopefully that's all it is

Like I said, make sure you didn't bump any wires. Check both O2 sensor plugs and make sure theyre clean and tight.

so I put the gauges in my car finally (post pics if I could figure out how to on my phone) an the oil pressure gauge reads 45 at 1300rpm so it seems fine to me but id like to kno what some others are getting

ok I don't know yet haven't been driving her since I've been working on a few different things
what should it be at warm up?

95 gt coupe, v6 swap weekend toy99 gt hatch beams swapped wife's94 st hatch my daily driverhttp://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=82235n
before its warm itll give a higher pressure as the oil will be "thicker" due to it being cold
