Put in 11.7 gallons. Can ran FINE right before the refueling, NO problems whatsoverer.
Right after started stumbling, idle speed droping, dying. Any ideas? Gas station sais gas is fine,
and I did not put diesel, at least I do know I put in regular unleded handle.

I bet the 2 events are unrelated. Check for vac leaks or timing.

Station says the fuel is ok, but is it really? How low did you let the tank get before refueling? Also, was the tanker there filling up the tanks? Have you had any rain recently?

parts going bad finally gave out...alternator? spark plugs...maybe oil got on them...old car....means parts going bad

This seems to be the best guess. Chevron QUETLY (without telling me what was in the gas) paid for towing my car, flushing the fuel lines and tank, replacing the fuel filter.
Just done, and they say it runs great. BIG question for me - should I insist on fuel pump replacement? Any other long term damage possibe? I do not know what was in the gas, they keep saying toyota
fuel pumps are "booletproof", but... They admited contamination fact as such and shut down all the pumps at the station.

Thought so. Yeah, your fuel pump is probably fine. Unless there was a ton of ethanol in the fuel, the plastic parts should be ok. If they flushed the system, I'd say the pump is probably running free now and you won't have any problems later.

If there was water in the gas then there is obviously something wrong with that stations Tank setup.....

By simptoms, I think I got E85 in my car. The car stalled at idle and low speed all the time. I guess our cars are way too old to
accept this mix. I had been in my car for a day total and driven (barely) for 6 miles... How much damage could it leave behind? Like I said,
I am most concerned about fuel pump and all the corrosion/damage to fuel system.

doesnt depend how old it is to accept the mix...most US Gas is E10 = 10% ethanol.... E85 is 85% ethanol the AFR is completely different It needs to be way richer to work! I just converted my car into straight ethanol... No more detonation from bad gas for me!

I hope you carefully replaced virtually all fuel lines/parts/components, as hot alcohol under pressure will eat through everything designed to withstand gasoline only
under these conditions. The chemical interactions are entirely different.

happy that you got your car to work right. but seriously we gonna get on this whole misinformation again about E85 and ethanol?? FFS people.. METHANOL is the one that you need specifically designed fuel supply system for NOT Ethanol.. and definalty NOT E85.. (other than the obvious +sized injectors and bigger fuel pump.) hell you can do more damage to your car's fuel system by putting too much of that "HEAT" (main ingredients is Methanol) than you can running E85 (again withe the proper tune, and larger injectors and fuel pump, and this is ONLY to provide the necessary additional fuel needed.).. the statement that it will "fry your fuel pump" or that it will "eat all your rubber parts" is a MYTH spread by uneducated or UNDER-educated people.

that rant being over.. from what i see it would be my theory that they probably had some stupid tanker dump a tank full of E85 in there main tank, and that leaned out the mixture to a point that caused your situation.. and also valerit1 your concern is NOT "corrosion" of any sort, it would be if you had any detonation from the lean mix wile you were driving it.. if anything, it would be damage to whats going on inside the combustion chamber, not the fuel parts.. and of course this is assuming that it was E85 and not water that got into there tank... if i were you i would press the gas station for more information on what it was the caused all of this so that you can know what to look out for later,, if it was E85 it is one thing, if it was water it would be a whole other affaire.
