Idk if its a s53 or s54 there looks like there's a mark that says 96 on it like it was in a junk yard
i think you are looking at the bearing carrier. there is a large bearing on the axle, it slides into the carrier and bolted in.

2001 Celica GT-S Turbo1997 Supra TT 6speed1997 Celica 3MZ/1MZ swap1990 Celica All-Trac
It looked the the inside of a e153 with LSD where if you look through the the holes for the input shafts

An I don't remember seeing that same bar on my s54 so that's what's throwing us off
As far as I could tell the car look all original
So the actual question

Idk Kurt95gt seems to think I have a LSD from a mr2 idk I can't see all the way threw the trans
And its in the transercase I know that's the bearing hub

Remember the red rtv Kurt?. So idk if it is out not and I really don't feel like taking it back out.
The bar is not a big deal. The inside of an S54 with LSD has a wider bar, the ones without have a more narrow bar.

All USDM S54's are open diff, making Celicas a one-wheel wonder. To get an LSD S54, you either need to buy a BEAMS tranny or fit an aftermarket LSD.

Then why two drive axels
One for each wheel?? Lol sorry, I'm not sure I understand the question.

Yeah sorry if only one wheel drives why two drive axels
Ah, gotcha. The power is sent down the path of least resistance and switches between wheels. When you are turning, the power usually goes to the inside wheel. Either wheel can pull the car, depending on the situation.

Well crap can I have your LSD?? I'll pay good money for it
Lol I just got it! I won't be giving it up for a good while. That is, when I can get it away from the girlfriend. If you really are interested in having LSD, your best option is to get on eBay any look up LSD for a 2000-2005 MR2. It fits right in the S54 and is the cheapest option. And it seems you've gotten good at taking your trans off lately, so the only obstacle left is installing it.

Lol yes I have lol I've done it 6 or 7 times now well at least on a auto anyways
I'm having trouble shifting into 3rd gear at high rpm. I can wide open throttle 1st and 2nd gear all the way to 7,000 rpm and then once I try to shift into 3rd gear it wont go in unless I drop the rpm to abou5 5,000 rpm. My clutch occasionally gets sticky and disengagement when leaving from first gear is very early. My gears to not grind at all.

I have changed my clutch fluid to Dot 3 about 5 months ago. So it is still semi clear. Do I need a new master cylinder or a new throw out bearing?? please help tongue.gif

I have no clutch shatter either. So I'm pretty sure my throw out bearing is fine??? New oem clutch kit has about 8,000 miles on it

or is this the answer to my problem?? http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showto...amp;mode=linear

Throw out bearing would make a noise when you pressed down on the pedal I would try bleeding the clutch line that would be my first step
Yea I'd bleed the clutch line again to make sure an if that doesn't work I'd start with the slave cylinder since it will be the cheapest/easiest part to change
If your throwout bearing is bad youll hear it grinding whenever your off the clutch pedal
