Hi guys, I am currently helping out a mate with a 3sge, replacing the waterpump, my question is how to get the crankshaft pulley bolt and would the bolt turn clockwise or anti clockwise to REMOVE the bolt? The timing cover needs to come off..

there are no bolts or nuts that are backwards. everything is righty tighty, lefty loosy

Not on our celicas, at least
i use an impact, and if that doesnt get it, use a breaker bar and bumo the starter

Well.. the cylinder head isnt on the car and I dont have an impact gun.. any other ways??

bump the starter.

theres also threaded bolt holes in the pulley but i never had luck with those

is the engine still in the car? put the car in reverse, step on the brake and that should prevent the engine from turning while you wrench on the bolt

If the engines out of the car, make a piece of metal that bolts to the engine block and the clutch bolt on the flywheel. This prevents the engine from turning over and you dont need an impact.

her cars an auto. doesnt work putting it in reverse in an auto right??
