Hi guys,

Was replacing the dizzy o-ring and broke a sensor i think frown.gif
When i had replaced the o-ring i went to fire up the engine and it did eventually but is horribly shaking and sounds like its running on 1 cylinder.

This is what i broke, could this be whats causing my problem or did i probably just install the dizzy wrongly...

Thanks
What motor? Looks like coolant temp sensor. How many prongs does the connector have?

I don't normally drive fast, but when I do its on a curvy section of this island
Its a 5s-fe and looks like 2 connectors
yeah most likely a coolant temp sensor.

Would that cause the engine to not run properly though?
it could, but more than likely wouldn't cause it to run THAT bad. double check your dizzy install.

proud =3sgte SWAPPED= '95 Celica ST owner [calling it the GT2 or half-trac]309,000 miles n' ....dead-> ALIVE AGAIN!! ~14,000 miles driven
finally found it in the BGB, it is the engine coolant temperature sensor. Double checked the dizzy install looks fine to me. I guess ill have to wait till tomorrow and order a new sensor

yeah i was thinking the same thing.

is your car OBDI or OBDII???

Really not sure but its a 1997 ST204 ZR which is basically the Australian GT. I thought anything after 1996 was ODBII but that is just a guess

you are correct. your car is a obdII vehicle. no check engine lights on? if i can remember obdII 6's timing cant be adjusted at the distributor. so i wouldnt know what would have your car running like crap.

I replaced the coolant temp sensor and she fired up just like normal and all is well now. Thanks guys!
