not sure if you know this yet, but the 94-99 gt-four was never brought to the states.

there are a few that have made it here. saw one for sale online a long time ago, jdm, right-hand-drive, titled, dot-approved lights, no idea about the engine, or insurance options.

i think i've seen a few awd converted cars go up for sale on here too.

iirc there may still be that one in cali for sale. no gas tank yet i think, but all the super hard work had been done.
There was a guy selling a full ST205 conversion in Oregon just before Christmas. That one was going for $14K - $16K

At that price I would just buy a newer, more reliable car.

solution : evo or sti end of story!! haha

Group buy to replicate Narrow E series transaxle partshttp://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showto...p;#entry1107514
Vin swap.....Which is yes, a felony.
or just do what half of us have done and swap everything and keep the usdm vin number - big pain in the A.... but rhd and whatever you want
I swear...we get a thread like this every year lol. If you don't have money, keep what you have because you need deep pockets to get one on the road. If you get caught driving it and it's not legally registered, good luck. You lose both money and car, which is bad.
i hear ya guys! well thanks but have anyone here ever converted their fwd to an awd? or rwd drive train?
and 1.8 convert to 3sgte? have anyone done it? im wanting to turbo my 7afe but id been reading lots of articles that its not even safe to turbo afe...
the my project part of this forum in combination with the search button at the top right of your screen will answer all of those questions.

Good Luck!!

My friend, please take a good gander at the stickies. Many have swapped from the 7A-FE to the 3S-GTE, and there are quite a few cases of the 7A-FTE setup. Throwing a turbo on the 7A-FE is safe, the issue is that it takes a bit of tuning and a good bit of money, and at the end you may find yourself close to the cost of swapping a 3S-GTE. However, I find the end ideal is worth it.

I imagine it'd be easier to get one titled in a state like Alabama. They don't do emissions, much less inspect the car. I've never had to apply for a title though. So I'm not sure what all that'd entail inspection wise, especially with it being an import and not USDM. All in all I imagine your best chances of getting a U.S. title for it would be somewhere like here though. Of course, I have nowhere near the money for any of this and if I did I'd just get a Corvette and a 5th gen All-Trac. So good luck to you.

Try getting in touch with those that own those cars and ask what all was needed to get a U.S. title for it.

how come theres no history on it? do you have it titled as a gt4 ?

no history? you mean the autocheck report that comes on ebay for free? there will never be history on any car that was not made and sold in the USA originally with a 17 digit vin number, even if it was assigned a 17 digit vin it still will never have history.
