I'm probably just missing something here, but I can't get the shifter arm out of my shifter assembly. Any pointers?

You have to punch the two (I think there are two) metal sleeves out that are holding the assembly together. They're front and back on the top plastic piece around the fulcrum.

Ahh. Wasn't sure the front one was removable. Thanks.

Well, I ended up having to take out both. There was no way to move that collar out of the way without cutting the top of the shifter arm off. Either way, got it done and have a the short shifter arm installed. It's a bit clunky though, so I'm a bit concerned that it was not made correctly. It also doesn't seem like a much shorter throw.

Nah, you only have to punch the big, rear one. I've done it several times.
