If he's going by the Asian sizing, they run two sizes smaller than ours. I found this out when my brother was looking at some jackets from a Korean company. He normally wears M, but needed XL.

Folks key is using sheet bellow. My common size is also M but believe me I would never fit into shirt with 19" pit-to-pit size . So I measured shirt I wear and followed numbers (not letters ) and my shirt from Vincent fits excellent! Maybe is bit tight around arms but I'm used to it .
