so i have a 1996 gt celica 2.2l. well i got a turbo kit hooked up to it now. well i have a auto tarn in it n now the tran sleps alot. it shifs great in low rpms but when i want 2 hall ass it like dies but dosent n trys to shif. how can i fix it. any ideas guys.

Auto transmissions don't like turbo's, it could be the solenoids but most likely not, get a manual .

yea i want to get a manul but idk where 2 get 1 for my 5sfe. n yea i can c that my tran hates the turbo lol, but my 5sfe is getting along wit it amazing haha

I would wonder if its the programming on the ECU, maybe its getting a little confused with the boost.

This guy says he has a GT manual for $120, but I dunno how you would get it to you from Kentucky

yea i thought it might b the ECU as well. but 2 this day idk where my ECU is at. and thank u 4 the help on the tran. ill go look real fast.

the only reason that your tranny is slipping and not shifting .. is that the tranny is only rated for the stock hp ..... your torque convertor dose not have the pressure to keep it engaged .... i had the same problem with my old 2000 subaru legacy ... whas running 6 psi ////////////////////// theres no way to get past it lol tranny swap lol
