ok i found the car for my new upcoming project. car runs fine and is manual tranny but its stuck in neutral, any ideas before i go buy it? i mean it is only $800

look under the hood on the driver side of the engine, you should be able to find the shifter cable links, follow them back to the firewall see if something is pinched. you can try to move it by hand to shift it into gear
Shifter cables, when i got my gt, it would only take 1st, 3rd and 5th gear. The tread on my shifter cables was gone and would take the other gears.
