Throttle Body Spacers? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #83901 9 posts Started by ILoveMySilly97
So I ran into a buddy of mine who had a throttle body spacer. Which I never heard of. He says it's suppose to make the car gain some low end power. So I did some reasearch about it but to me it seems like it's similar to me installing my Injen Short Ram intake. There's no power gain, if there was, very little only. I know I got better throttle response after installing my Injen. I just wanted to see if anyone has ever tried it and actually DYNO their cars after and before installing the spacer.

They don't do anything. Its another fake product designed to make money off people who don't know any better.

Just like aftermarket intakes! If you have a hot air intake sitting right in the bay, it'll actually decrease your power, but if you run a true CAI, then you might see veerrryyy minimal gains or just the same as stock.
Audio and sounding better is the only thing you gain from intake... hence why I never bothered. I'd prefer to run a K&N drop in if you really wanted to improve airflow...

I actually kind of regretted spending 180 dollars on my short ram. I could've bought k&n drop in filter and bought some other better tune ups but oh well. It gives it a nice look in the engine bay and more space.

Spend your money on camshafts or a decent port and polish. Much more bang for your buck.
In any NA car, i've always suggested Boost or nothing...

Yea. I'm actually trying to save money for the maintenance and just keeping it running good and looking good now. I don't think I'll ever be able to afford to install a turbo or do a BEAM swap. Cali emission rules are too high. -_-
