Well like most of you know i just about finished the exterior project on my car.

So today i take it to get my door poppers installed. I get there and find out that the guy that does that installation isn't going to show up. >> Anyway i start heading to work and as hop onto the freeway and i shift into 3rd gear my hood slams into my windshield! >> I panicked for about half a second until i noticed that i could see the road....(the reason it popped open is b/c we all know that the USDM celi's latches DONT hook on properly to the GT4 hood so i opened it for the guys at the shop as soon as i arrived, before even talking to anyone).. k back to the freeway.. so what seems like forever for me to pull over which was probably only like 1/8-1/4 of a mile i get out to close the hood. Then as i grab the hood i hear and feel my heart, soul, and my hood cracking and popping! >> As i bring it down to eye level there is a HUGE dent in the center of it... *tear comes to eyes* I try to close it cuz now I'm just pissed off! and the hood won't hook on. This was not turning into a good morning. So i force it to close and i just floor it to work. NOT giving a RATS BUTT about anything i didnt care if i messed up my front bumper from all the rocks being kicked up by other cars. I get to work and i am just pissed off and sad at the same time. I pop my hood (which took me awhile) then i start punching the dent out. I got a good portion on it out but there is still more damage to my poor baby.... no shows for me any time soon. I will put pix up later. I dont want to, but i DON'T feel good.

Man that really sucks, u just finished ur paint and shiz right? Oh man thats awful. Same thing happened to my brother and his MR2, his hood is fcuked up.

Well, it looks like both of us aren't having some major bad luck with our cars, which isn't a good way to start the year. Well, I hope that things work out and when you get it fixed, see if the body shop can modify your latch like ELP did to mine. The just welded a piece of metal to extend it higher.

yeh thats what i did to my latch. i had somone weld a longer catch on. so now i know when the hood is poped and when its shut.

btw, what front lip is that. is it from the 96-99 kit or 94-95? do you know what had to be done to get it to fit right with the gt4 bumper?

i feel your pain.. just getting something and getting it messed up ...

I feel so sorry for you man. Some people must be very jealous of your car .

I hope that there is no damage on the windshield and the pillars.

bad luck man. any chance you could get away with some paintless dent repair on that hood of yours?

heh you got me paranoid. i was driving to work today thinking that my hood was going to pop up on me.

good thing i got my latch fixed tho, so i wont think my hood is shut when its really not.

Been there man, while test driving my car it happened, the guy had it fixed and you cant even tell it happened.
