Best exhaust sound - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #84471 8 posts Started by Yesaccelica
What is the best option if i just want a nice sound coming out of my exhaust. Would a catback be neccesary or should i just need a muffler?
Greddy SP2 bizzatches!

but your chances are slim except if you order a 5zigen border exhaust that looks like a greddy but quieter.

If I were you determine your piping size to match your motor 7afe no greater than 2.25 and 5sfe 2.25-2.5 but 2.5 is if you have some good bolt ons at least. Get a good resonator, Vibrant makes good resonators, and quality branded muffler and get it welded and mounted onto your car.

Your choice of muffler APEXi WS2 (Oval), TANABE (Oval), etc. other things you might want to think about is if you plan to get headers, or removing your catalytic (if its legal in your area) because it will again or overall change the entire exhaust sound and powerband.

The goal is to get an ultraquiet resonator because no matter what you do, you'll still have a decently loud exhaust so the resonator will help deepen and tone down that raspiness.

I put a borla universal turbo muffler on my 2.2 and it sounded incredible! Very deep sound. And I upgraded my piping after the cat. Everything else was stock

I found quite the opposite, changing a centre muffler for 2 resonators for me changed it from a deep purring to a loud barking.

Ofcourse turbo exhausts are always different to NA exhausts though

turbo exhaust would always have a different sound, sometimes you need 2 resonators, but again it has to be good ones.
