I'm just tired of dumping money into this car and getting little to no return. Every couple months, there's always a new problem that I have to address. I haven't had money for myself in a very long time. So as much as I hate to say this, it's time to look for a more reliable car. For specs and mods, you can either refer to my profile or the Craigslist post I'll link here. Hell, I may not even sell her, but I'm putting her up for sale to get a feel for interest.

This is sad, bro. I mean... You've fixed so much! At least you know what won't break, right?

True. I've dumped almost $9,000 into this car on top of the $3,800 I originally paid for it and I'm just sick of it. For the past year and a half, I've had a different problem that needs fixing show up almost every month. It's ridiculous and I can't keep wasting money like this.

Odd that it's not reliable for you, I've done more miles than you with less service, no hiccups. Good luck. What's the idea for replacement?

hey man, just do what I am doing.
take the celi off of insurance and have it sit, and take your time to fix the problems
get a reliable DD in the meantime

^ He's a college student though, and I'm assuming it'd be rough to store one car whilst driving another. Not too feasible.

You're welcome, Hector.

Ferdi is right, guys. My permanent residence is in Ft. Worth and I spend 2/3 of my year in Albuquerque, NM going to school. I don't have anywhere to store the Celi and Ft. Worth and I have less of anywhere in New Mexico. I hate to sell it, but I need a reliable car in a month so I can get back to Albuquerque. With the way this motor is, she won't make it this time around.

When I get time tomorrow, I'm going to search around for an OBD 1 7A that I could give a quick rebuild to and swap in. Because I really, REALLY don't want to sell this car. My options are swap a motor into it quickly or sell and buy another car.

I definitely say put a replacement engine in it. You won't get nowhere near what you have in it. Then who's to say the car you replace it with will be any better? You already know the ins and outs of the Celica. Worst part about buying another car used, you don't know what's been done and what's waiting to go out.
