remove rear raiser blocks - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #85181 14 posts Started by boomer
Hi can anybody tell me how you remove the 2t202 rear rise blocks frome the spoiler thanks
Pull off the plastic panel, undo the 2 bolts on each side, then once the whole thing is off, figure out what socket or screw driver you need to unbolt the blocks
^x2, the blocks + WIng, attaches to the hatch by removing 4 bolts 2 on each side. after that you will need to undo the blocks from the actual spoiler, which is by screws or bolts. and then youre done.

the spoiler is not on the car i have removed (loosened) two phillips screws that wont come out but thier are two screws that can only be thightened and these seem to be holding the blocks to the spoiler
sounds like it lost its thread and is just moving but not backing up?

for you, what i said earlier, is it tightens only but cannot reverse/loosen, is because it lost its threading. thats what it sounds like.

no it's the design of the screw head
Its called a security screw. The head of the screw is ground down so that you can only tighten it with a screwdriver not loosen it.
I dunno why its in there, take it to a machine shop, they should be able to remove it for $5- $20
Thanks for the comments. Don't know why they would use them there. This is a oem spoiler and I thought it would be a simple upgrade (not) guess I will just bite the buellet and do a repaint (ouch)
yes thats right, the blocks that came from an actual car with the high spoiler, they are attached with security screws.

not sure why people dont know this
