celica / lexus interior swap? - 6G Celicas Forums

I just got a 1995 celica GT convertible. Before I bought it I was looking at a Lexus SC400. I love the interior of that car.

It appears the celica and the SC400 share a lot in common. I have seen people swap out trunk lids before. Anyone know if the interior is compatible? Door panels? Seats? dash board etc?

Any info on what is and is not compatible is greatly appreciated.

thats very tough to ask around here unless someone has the SC. i'm not sure what you mean by the SC400 share a lot in common with the celica. I could think the SC300 shares a lot with the supra. But in this case, I would only imagine the seats are your most probably bet that has a chance to bolt on to a celica with some to no mods. door panel, unlikely, hard to find a car that actually shares door panels, and dashboard is almost impossible.

As far as I know, nothing is swappable or the same... Celica is a celica... Curren parts fit, yeah, but it's not like a Camry and a ls300

Im gonna go out on a limb on this one and say if ur committed to trying this project then go for it and keep us all in the loop. Im intrested in the fact thats its different and Im sure everyone here can tell u Im nuts for anything different of over the top laugh.gif

not specifically to this attempt for compatibility, but for me as long as its toyota i like other oem options that can fit, cus it may be an option, might look better, or cheaper.

I personally love the Celica's interior enough to never change it. I even prefer the Celica's interior to the mkIV Supra. But I think it would be cool to see this project. thumbsup.gif

i've seen the celica's interior in other cars, but never another car's interior inside a celica.

I'm all with the compatibility. Always good to have open options whether its aftermarket, custom, or OEM, cus one day, you may have to pick from one of the categories. I thought I saw AE111 door panels look the same as our celicas.

I'm curious Gerald, what cars are you talking about?

+1 for the idea, but I don't see how any other car could have better looking interior than Celica... perhaps only Supra, but it is a very close call. I love the Celica interior and I bet you can make it even better with half the effort you are going to put in swapping with SC400.

But if you are going to do it, please post it here, I'm curious. biggrin.gif

good guess. AE110/AE111 Corolla











98+ st202/st205 seats in a 1998 corolla (not sure if it directly bolts in or...)

that was a good guess, and that is a lot of parts taken from the celica. i wonder if their strut bars work on ours. its even celica calipers, it looks like parts from a celica thats been transplanted into the corolla. which means its not necessarily stock on the corolla but compatible. cus even the motor/drivetrain is 3s and i know the motor supposed to be 4a. seems to be everything from an st205/SS-III seats transferred over. where is the first pic from, doesnt look like from a corolla just from a rhd celica?
