today while driving my car started to do some weird things. when going into 1st gear from a stop it would grab and then rev an extra 1k when i was off the clutch and had the same pressure as before in the gas. it did this thru 3rd gear. not sure why just started. going to investigate tomorrow.
clutch issue???!!?!? - 6G Celicas Forums

From what your saying it sounds like the clutch is slipping. Though the clutch usually slips in the highest gears first, and rarely in a lower gear

ys thats what i was thinking, it a $$$ issue right now. what would your recommendations be for a kit? im looking for something a lil stronger and more durable then oem. are clutch kits for the zz motors compatible since they use a C series trans like my 7afe.
the 7a doesnt do much, i would just get a stock kit or replacement aftermarket kit to keep costs down, idk how the replacement aftermarket ones last since there are many brands out there. You could try getting something simple like Exedy. Other high end brands are like ACT, Southbend, Competition Clutch, etc. but would run you some money.

yes the 1ZZ and 2ZZ use the exact same clutch as the 7A. if you got an OEM clutch for the 2ZZ then it should have a higher clamping force than a 7A clutch

^ is it the same diameter so that it can cover the surface of the flywheel exactly, or will it make its new mark?
