Searching around the forum there isnt a thread that is specific to 5sfe aftermarket rad hoses.



The lower piece of the ebay silicone hose kit for the 7afe can be used for the 5SFE's lower rad. It is a little long so some needs to be trimmed off.

I havent been able to find anything for the upper rad hose other than Mishimoto's universal hoses, which I havent had any experience with so I am not 100% sure if it would adapt.

mishimoto is fine to use

Camry 5S upper hose will work as well but like the 7A lower hose, is slightly too long and needs to be trimmed.

what do you mean like between the GT and ST, there is just i guess aesthetic looking ones, i guess they are silicone, maybe not, but brands like Gates, and OBX. Not sure how you feel about those brands - never tried them myself for radiator hoses.

Gates makes the best silicone-based (racing) timing belts. You dont have to pay for a GReddy or HKS logo, either.

I guess I should specify more. Thicker walled hoses is what I am looking for. I had an OBX one for my lower rad hose, but found out when I removed my rad that it was halfway burned through because it was pressing up against something (i didnt trim it down enough)
That hose was from a 7afe kit. I just need to get another one of those, but that doesnt solve my problem for the upper rad hose. The OBX hose I was thick 3 walled. The OEM is a thin double wall.

I haven't really looked into it but if you can use any of the hoses from the 3sgte, or the like, you could always try Samco. Or contact them and see if they have specs on other hoses?

this is what i got from mishimoto below. So that means unless you know which elbows you need and get a middle man alum pipe is fine. its been said a 3sgte upper hose would fit but looking at pics they are similar but not exact. it would have to fit and have some tolerance bend to make it fit but not kink the hose. Theres threads here that say it fits, but no pic proof, just words. based on pics the radiator on a 3sgte is different where the hose attaches to, but just looking at the shape of the hose, it looks like a 5s but flipped the other way.

The universal kit we have found to be best for customers looking for a specific bend when attaching smaller aluminum pipes together. It rarely can fit as a drop in replacement. yeah....they arent making on for the 5s lol

I may bite the bullet and go with the 205 kit. Id like to have one full hose ( actually split by my water temp sensor) rather then patches of aluminum hoses

^ thats not what I meant that they aren't going to make one, that was just his answer for our vehicle. If you really look at a lot of different hoses for cars, you will notice compatibilities or similarities rather, and you just buy one thats made from another car...obviously the 5s is not worth making one for. The purpose of the email is if they had found already a good known solution for the 5s or a similar hose shape from another car.

I was looking at the gt4 kit again, and the lower hose looks more like the GT, the upper hose is not exactly the same shape but it looks like it can connect, I'm just curious if it has enough horizontal angle to meet up to the coolant inlet.

ive always seen that site, just wasnt sure if I believed it because how dedicated were they to try out all those hoses to see if they really fit rather than eyeballing if they fit. But its a good try, im sure it should be no problems, maybe slight stretching or cutting of material perhaps. but if this fits, you know what that means, you don't need to get this product, it somewhat confirms that you can get a SAMCO version instead.

That would be upper and lower?

I'm using ST204 hoses with my BEAMS, so I would wager that the 3rd gen 3S-GE hoses would fit as well. It seems like I've read where 3rd gen 3S-GTE swappers have used their old radiator hoses.

So 3sgte hoses will work?

its been said that 3rd gen 3sge and 3sgte can fit. They are not exactly the same in appearance of the bends, but it does look like it works.
