Yes smoke machine for how many hundreds of dollars, or under a dollar for a cigarette? I've done it before, and it works. I find using a cigar works better since they put off more smoke. Cheap and effective. Hell, I learned the trick from a mechanic of 40+ years that has one of the fancy smoke machines.

wont it just blow back out the turbo and into the air filter pipe? or does he have to go and block that off


the best thing you can do, for people with fmics is to have their piping welded up and use the least amount of silicone joiners as possible. 1 tig weld from an engineering shop is about half the price of a joiner and 2 clamps so why not?

1 off turbo, 2 on intercooler and 1 at the throttle body MAX

i feel like an ass... Ive been having a vac/boost leak of some sort for months and Ive tried this method.... BUT i put the cigarette on a vacuum hose while the car was ON. two things happened.

1. the cigarette was gone faster than a top fuel car does the 1/4 mile.

2. i saw no smoke
