Gt4 and Mr2 3sgte the same? Im not looking to swap it in or anything like that but was just wondering. It's probably detailed already but for the life of me i couldn't find it using the search button.

I think the block and head are....but so far im starting to find out that the timing belt and its components are not. Alternator mounting is different also.
3S-GTE in the MR2 is second generation and makes 200hp. 3S-GTE in the 6GC GT-Four is third generation and makes some 251hp. The 3S-GTE in the 5GC All Trac/GT-Four is second generation and makes 200hp.

there are a million differences between the two and the head for sure is not the same. there are very few interchangeable parts... this is something that all 3rd gen owners end up finding out the hard way....
