Im tired of jumstarting my car every 8 th day.. If not used. My baterry was new, and keeps loosing juice while not in juice, I know it may be something normal, but too quick is too soon.

Its not the radio, and its not my amp, cuz i dont have one? any takers?

Learned a lot in 10 years...I hardly log in anymore, last loginToday Sept 6 2019, and I was forced just to clarify a post. LOLIf you PM me and I dont respond, dont fret or cry. I know this is not the answer but dam just wanted to add that I've been having that problem since I got my car

is the alternator charging the battery? if its not a short, a ground, battery connections, or a battery it might be a positive battery cable problem. had a similar problem with my car (battery relocation in the trunk). i switched to zero gauge wire and havent had issues since.

Its called 'parasitic battery drain' and here is how to test for it-

-Remove the negative battery cable
-Make sure the car is completely off (*A door ajar powering the interior lights may blow your multimeter's fuse!*)
-Set your multimeter to measure milliamps in DC
-Connect the multimeter's negative lead to the battery's negative post
-Connect the multimeter's positive lead to the negative battery cable or a common ground(like the engine)
-The measurement should be roughly* .005 - .02 amps on most cars
-Pull one fuse at a time and measure the current drop on the multimeter. The fuse that drops the current the most is the parasitic drain. I would also suggest pulling the relays one by one. Dont forget to never open the doors or power anything up on the car with the multimeter completing the car's circuit, as you can easily damage the multimeter if you are careless.

^This. Got to it before I did. Or if you get one with a clamp you can just clamp it around your ground cable.

Haha those are expensive!

I have my good ole multimeter, but work supplies the clamp one to check delta 3 phase.
I talked my dad into buying me one. He own's an electrical company and I told him I could use it for work wink.gif (when I used to work for him on the side)

Or you could use a pair of vice-grips the hold the electrode to the battery terminal. Heck a clothes pin may even hold it.

ill try the test, but damn it appears to be a long one. yes ive had that drain for 2 years, and its not a radio, unless the battery of the radio is the size of a horse. thanks for the reply, it gives me an idea.....

Have you checked at night to make sure your lights are cutting off? Figured check that before you go pulling each fuse!
Have you actually peeked at your car at night to see if their is a Gremlin eating out of it?
