So I need to replace my front right side axle cause everything I turn right, it make a loud clicking noise. I'm guessing the CV boot is ripped or something? Anyways getting a new axle.

Now my question would an axle for a GT fit both automatic and manual? Or is there different type for each one?
As far as I know, there is different axle for the ST & GT, but not sure about auto & manual. Any help would be great. Thinking of getting the axle from ebay, thats why.

Yes there should be 8 different sets of axles for US 6gcs.

To my knowledge, the 7afe and 5sfe axles are not interchangable. I also believe the automatic and manual transmission axles are different due to either length or spline count. Finally the ABS equipped axles(they have a ring with notches near the threaded end) may be fully compatable with non-ABS cars. I have ABS 5sfe manual axles in my non-ABS 5sfe manual. Of course if you put a non-ABS axle into an ABS equipped vehicle the ABS light will come on and the system wont function correctly.

I got my remanufactured cv-axles at autozone for $60 a piece and it took them two days to order them. One thing you may want to count on is that the other axle will probably start to fail once you replace the side that's acting up now. They wear out pretty evenly just like tires or brakes but this is no reason to replace both(when only 1 is bad) unless its cheaper or more convienient for you based upon your circumstances.

Manual and auto have specific axles, but you can use an ABS axle on a non-ABS car. Just remove the ABS ring assembly, it's three pieces that slide off with the aid of a mallet and flathead.

Thank you for your help guys! Here is what I've got from Pep Boys and O'Riely. So yes, 5SFE and 7AFE have different axle.
As far as the 5s goes, for the right side, it uses the same axle for both automatic and manual. But for the left side, there a is a specific one for the manual and and another for the auto. Don't ask me why, thats how it is I guess.

So another question. If every time I turn right and hear loud clicking sound from underneath front of the car, that is the RIGHT axle, correct? Because I check the right axle and none of the boots are torn/damage. However, when I check the left axle, it's boot is torn. Any advice please?
