So i was driving for about 1 hour with a/c on cold and all of a sudden i smelled something burning and a/c stopped working. even the lights of the a/c went off. i checked the fuse (10A) and it was burned so i changed it. a/c lights went on again but when i start the a/c fuse burns again. what might be the problem here? the car is a st202 1998 model

It sounds like one or more of the wires melted, causing a short. I couldn't tell you where to begin looking though, either on the compressor itself and trace those wires as far as you can or pull the climate control cluster and check behind it.
