hey all... never messed with a vert before, what would be the way to fix the top not going down automatically, and having to do it manually?

Probably the motors have gone bad.

Can you be more specific. Can u hear the motors ect.
There is a switch in the trunk that will cut power to the motors. It is behind a little panel by the light. If something bumps it it can switch by itself. Make sure it is on position.

Previous owners said it was something about the top bars?

Learned a lot in 10 years...I hardly log in anymore, last loginToday Sept 6 2019, and I was forced just to clarify a post. LOLIf you PM me and I dont respond, dont fret or cry. I installed two satellite receivers* in my '97 Celica convertible, and both times accidentally bumped the manual switch in the trunk. I didn't feel it either time, and it's easy to check. There's a little hatch in the trunk on the side that faces the back seat, and the switch is in there. Worth a try.... wink.gif

*Went from cheesey dash mounted adapter to under the seat Pioneer unit: $20 difference!

Would someone be kind enough to post a picture of this switch so ican check it out tonight?
