was curious as to what my options are atm. should i get new trans, rebuild, or (if this works) http://www.atsracing.net/Parts/Index/TRANSAXLES
and can any 1 post the link me to the gear ratios i know they are on here and have located them in the past but having trouble finding them due to lack of sleep right now.

well first off, the link you posted is for the E153 transmission so you are SOL there.

the cheapest route is take the trans back out and hand deliver it to a transmission guy. buy the gears that you need (and syncros) and have him rebuild it. if you have a shop pull the trans they will rape you in labor

Check the fluid level before you do anything else. The s54 which is in the GTs takes 2.7 quarts exactly. If you were to put 2.5 or 3.0 quarts in for example, it wouldnt work correctly anymore. Unlike the automatic transmission, the syncronizers make the manual extremely sensitive to fluid level.

Check that the fluid is level with the fill plug, with the car unloaded and on a level surface.

Now if that doesnt help let us know more details. Can you get into second gear with the engine running? With the engine off? Does it grind, not go into gear or just not do anything at all while in gear?

ill have to get more detail from him about it. from what it sounded like 2nd gear cant be used at all but i would double check with him about it. he didnt mention if its just grinding badly or if its even able to get into gear with or without engine on.
