My Car Just Stop Starting Yesterday When I Was Driving. I've Check The Timing Belt First And It Was Good, I've Check The Spark Plugs And Wires And Its Good, Then I Checked For Spark To See If It's The Ignition Coil And Distributor And It's Not, Checked The Crank Sensor And It's Good, Put Some Starting Fluid In To See If It's The Fuel But It's Not... Gonna Get The Ignition Coil Check At Advance Auto Now ... And Oh And I Just Bought An New Battery For The Car. I Have An 95 Celica GT With An ST185 Swap I Really Dont Know What Is The Problem Anymore Please Help.....

does it turn over and just not run, or when you turn the key nothing happens?

Fuel press?
What I think when you think I care
>
it turns over but just wont start......
and no fuel pressure is right on mark.....beside if it was the fuel then the starting fluid spray would of work..... right???? i am completely out of ideas....... and Ignition Coil came back perfect what to do....

when you say you checked the plugs, did you take one out and crank the motor to see if it was generating an arc?
i would put the blame on spark if you have fuel...
maybe a fuse
maybe a fuse
What I think when you think I care
>
yup took each one out one by one to check spark using jumper cables all have spark...i just dont know anymore.......
and all my fuses are just fine.....i've replaced all of my main fuses and still nothing....

timing could be off to the point where it wont start

Compression, fuel and spark.
Spray starting fluid(ether) into the intake or pour an ounce of gas inside it so that it can get the the cylinders. Now try to start the car. If it tries to sputter to life you have a fuel related issue, if it still wont start you have an ignition related issue.

Check your grounds, poor grounds can keep a car from starting.

bad ground actually caused my car not to crank...but started by pushing it...
What I think when you think I care
Hey that's an idea, try to push start it.
2001 Miata LS 5-speed
took it apart and checked the time it's all correct , tried push start won't start, i did say that i've used starting fluid already so thats out of the question.....all of my ground wires are correct and should be fine.....(SO STRESSFUL)
If you have spark, fuel, and correct timing, then the only thing I can think of is that your iac is stuck closed. So while you crank the engine cant draw any air. Try cranking while lightly pressing on the gas to crack the throttle.
I only bring this up because I once saw someone pull a vacuum while compression testing lol. Turned out their iac was messed up

it's getting plenty of air and the throttle opens perfectly.

so its not fuses, not spark, not fuel pressure... wont start by pushing has vacuum grounding is ok bat is ok cables are ok and arking...
if you remove the spark plugs and cranking the engine does fuel spurt out of the holes? thats how I check that its getting fuel...cuz Im running out of ideas...
you could go war of the worlds on it and CHANge duh solenoid

Perhaps it's the ECU. About the only other thing I can think of.
2001 Miata LS 5-speed
Did you check your ignition timing? Spark could be firing at the wrong time
some timing issue or ECU is left or a electrical problem.
dumb question but is there still a timing belt on there.

I'm 100% sure it's not the ECU... All Wires Is Fine...And Yes Timing Belt is still on
ignition timing is fine

I don't know much about ST185, but does it have a Mass Air Flow sensor by chance? If it has a MAF sensor, unplug it and try starting it. I had a car that refused to start no matter what i did and it turned out to be that sensor.
Btw, when you tried using starter fluid. Did you have someone crank the motor while another sprayed starter fluid directly into the throttle body? If not, you should try it this way with a friend.
Have you checked compression by chance?

bump...
ask batman, pressure2, dr tweak, lagos off my head with 3sgte experience and if others who have done 3sgte swappers out there could help too....they should know, since toyota dealership can't help...they told you a crank sensor on a 3sgte? never heard of that? any one for a clarification? no error codes on the engine right? check your AFM? MAP electrical connector is disconnected? fuel pump resistor good or bad? check vacuum lines for leaks cracks, check intake tubing from afm to turbo for cracks....
also, post a video, that also helps.
here is something i just search to see if you had done it:
3sgte won't crank
wrong ecu or correct?
timing, even if you think you did it right

Well let me contribute to the pool of ideas-
Verify the ecu is recieving power, the CEL should illuminate when the key is turned ti the ON position.
Rent a Noid Set from the autoparts store, they plug into your fuel injector harness and flash when you crank the motor to verify that yoh are recieving signals to the injectors(which also means the camsensor and ECU are functioning, the ecu doesnt control spark below 400rpm).
Remove/expose the coil and test both the primary and secondary resistance. You wouldnt replace the battery without testing it, and the coil is much easier and more accurate to test than the battery considering it can be tested with a standard multimeter.

yea tried that already... no results....though it might be flooded so i got an air compressor and sprayed in the spark plugs, tb and no result too...MAF was unpluged when i took it for testing...it was fine... lost...

gotten new rc550 injectors and working fine... after a few cranks the spark plugs are fulled with gasoline....so use my uncle's air compressor to sprayed it all out (sprayed for 2Hrs Straight) and still no start. Oh and just re-did the timing belt changed water pump bought new distributor with cap followed everything with in spec (using engine maintenance on 6gc).....lost......oh i forgot changed coolant sensor also

Have you checked compression on all cylinders yet? What were your results?
Did you check the relays?
Check the primary and secondary resistance on the coil, just because you can see a spark does not mean the coil is powerful enough to ignite the mixture in the cylinder. Ive had a visible spark from gorunding out a plugwire only to find a faulty coil later on.
hahaha...don't give up...looky at all the tips...give us a feedback shai
