What's all involved with swapping from a 7AFE to 3SGE Beams - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #88804 2 posts Started by onnaj
I can buy a Beams engine for a very nice price. I know the seller and i've done good business with him before.

I do really want to know what i exactly need to buy/have to complete the swap. Hope you can help me out and correct thing if i'm wrong.

1) Engine with all parts
2) Ecu with wiring, for the rest i can keep my own wiring? Will it fit because the Beams is RHD?
3) Gearbox with axles, clutch, flywheel, pressure plate. Gearbox cables, are they interchangable because i want a LHD?
4) Gasket set, with headgasket, cam cover gastker, etc. Then i can check the engine internals right away.
5) Fluids
6) Can i mount my 7AFE aircon pump and use the aircon lines?
7) Timing belt kit
8) Engine mounts. To i need to make adjustments to the original mount holes?
9) etc...

I'm considering more swaps, i do know i want an NA car. I just like NA power biggrin.gif

Thanks folks! smile.gif

My 7AFE to 4AGE 20V Blacktop conversion!
If you have a 7A now, you'll need the GT motor mounts and shift cables. The cables are universal between RHD and LHD. The wiring harness is not long enough for a LHD firewall so you will either need to extend it or cut a new hole in the firewall. You will use the BEAMS A/C compressor with your existing A/C lines. I believe it's the passenger side motor mount that needs to be drilled out, but the holes are already marked.
