Replaced Valve Cover Gasket, and Now I'm leaking LOTS of coolant.. - 6G Celicas Forums

so I replaced the Valve cover on my 3SGTE and the car now sounds nice and clean (after having a big oil leak and misfire) and yet I have a huge coolant leak from the back of the engine. (intake side). there was 500ml or more on the ground and bubbly squirty noises from under the throttle body.

So, any idea which hose it might be? I can't drive it to the mechanics and living in Japan I can't tell the mechanic anything...

Help me 6gc, you're my only hope...
I know that under the 5sfe throttle body there are 3 hoses, 2 of them have coolant in them and the third is a vacuum hose. One of those hose clamps probably got knocked loose IF the 3sgte throttle body is the same as the 5sfe.
It is the same, I managed to watch as 300ml sprayed out from under the TB today. So there are two possibilities: 1 not enough tension on the gasket or the hose is split ( I checked the clamp and it`s tight and where it should be. The volume coming out was pretty big. Pretty sure its split. Anyone know the hose part#s? I'll have to get another TB gasket, but if I can't source the hose #s then I have to take it to the shop frown.gif
You can try to pull the numbers from toyodiy.com, or you could shoot a message over to Tracy at Lithia Toyota, he's good about tracking down part numbers or telling you if the item is no longer available.
So I just went and ordered parts, there was lots of broken Japanese and pointing at images of engine diagrams...

But the Water By-pass Hose No. 3 Part Number is 16267-88480

The last 5 digits might be wrong, that's the code on the GT4s TB Gasket, but who knows if its the same for the coolant system.

Thanks for the help!
