stagg strut problem - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #89193 13 posts Started by billkisme
hey guys. I got the stagg struts off ebay cause of some of the reviews were pretty good. my girlfriends 95 needed rear struts bad so I bought these and went to install the rears and had no isssues really but after installed and put all back together we noticed the massive negitive camber. took it to the shop for alignment and they said there was nothing they could do about fixing the camber. the guy there said it looks like the strut was way to long and pushing the arm down so far that there was no way to fix the problem. Has anyone else noticed this? her celica is a 95 st.
I installed everything right, Ive been working on cars for well over 10 years and suspension is my strong point.
anyone have some pointers on something like this.
The passenger side rear is more cambered in then the driver side is.
camber bolts, may help u. altough call the seller, see if you got the right ones u needed...

You'll need camber bolts for these to be aligned properly. There's some that are rated to 2 degrees of adjustment and more.

Ingalls are what I bought and I've had them for almost a year and no issues yet.

Get the good camber bolts, some cheapos rust pretty fast and are only good if you don't remove them too often.
What would said "good" camber bolts be? like what brands would those include?
Im looking to fix the same problem on my own car!
I have Stagg Struts.

Have had them on for a little more than a year now.
been lowered a little with megan springs (installed same time as the struts)

Sounds like you need camber bolts.
I used MOOG bolts from rockauto.com

Mine before..

and after

keep in mind thats with lowering springs so stock should be even straighter.

more good information. Is that picture with the bolts on showing them maxed out, as upright as possible?
as upright as possible.
@ about 2 inches lower than stock.. the little camber that is there is okay with me

awesome. thanks guys, the price for the bolts are a fair price so Ill order them today. once I get outside Ill snap a few pics of how bad the camber is.
now did you just order one bolt for each side or did you go with 2 each side. I know the top crash bolt is the one that you adjust.
If they were too long oyu'd have positive camber.

I used one bolt per side.

I figured thats all thats needed. Im about to order the bolts here in a few.
Well I got the camber bolts installed and went to get an alignment. Guy tells me even with the bolts the camber is a good 2 degrees off from being where it should.
The company I got the struts from said they would take them back and give me my full credit back. Never had a problem like this before with struts.
