long story short, my pistons started to seize the day i was getting my oil changed. it was bad enough that i now need an engine swap. my mechanic tells me that there are now no usable engines this is side of the Mississippi (we already tired two).
so i'm calling on you guys for some help. if anyone has any kind of engine they're willing to part with and it can fit in a '97 5-speed GT, it would be greatly appreciated.
even if someone in or close to ohio (south west to be specific) has a car they could part with while my engine is getting fixed it would mean the world.
this is my first car and it's got a lot of history and character. even before i had it. i'm not really ready to let him go so if any could help me out, i wouldnt be able to thank you enough.

if you cant find an engine, have it torn down and find out what exactly has failed. just because its "almost siezed" does not mean its junk. new crankshaft, bearings, rods, pistons, rings. the head is possibly ok. just need to inspect the cam journals.

I find it really hard to believe that there are no engines. car-part.com is your friend.

They must be looking for Celicas specifically. There are loads of Camrys, Rav4's, and other 5S powered cars around.
