Hey guys,
I have been working on getting the dome lights to slowly fade like on new cars. I got a design that I am happy with and I wondered if others might want the same thing. The basic idea is that dome light would be modified to hold the controller and the bulb replaced with leds. I'm also thinking that I would want expansion ports so that I can add led strips under the dash, and in the rear.
I could offer my services to modify your dome or even charge like a core fee and get some spares from the junkyard. I could just sell the controller too if people would rather that.

I use the feature on my Viper alarms... press unlock, it makes it think my door is ajar (hence turning on the lights) for 30 seconds or another condition is met. Doesn't "dim" like the new cars but it works.

Yes toyota did do this, my 1991 MR2 had dimming key ring on the door handles, ignition, and dome light
