When dipping wheels it's easier to remove the dip from the tire when there is a good layer of it on the tire itself, not just a tiny amount of overspray.
I don't know what to say, either get to work and start cleaning it or spray just the tire and let it bond, then try to peel it.


I've heard WD40 corrodes the dip too so I might try that on the tires. Next time I'm taping them off / using index cards though to avoid this haha

Like I said, get note cards and put them in between the lip of the wheel and the tire to prevent overspray. Have fun getting the rest of that off, I couldn't but at least mine was black. lol

Yeah I will be doing that next time around lol, thanks. If it doesn't turn out this time...then I think I'm retiring from plast-dipping

Little update: Re-did the plasti-dip the other day and it looks 100x better now!






Decided to do the emblem too while I was at it just cause


Just have to clean the overspray off the tires and she'll be good to go!


Also got my riser blocks in yesterday! Any tips on getting them painted? Should I bother getting them professionally done or would it be better to do it myself?

Primer, adhesion promoter and paint. (after a good clean)

They look ready to paint, maybe a little scuffing with a scotchbrite pad for better primer adhesion will do.

Finally got new wheels!

After hitting something in the road and riding on a spare for a couple weeks, I figured I should probably get some new tires, and while I was at it I got new wheels.

The wheels:


Got some Firestone Champion tires from Walmart:


Wheels off, still plasti dip on the rotors and calipers lol...



Decided to paint the calipers red while I was at it:







Front wheels on! halfway there



Did the emblem in black


Finally back wheels on

Taking pictures of black wheels at night kinda makes them impossible to appreciate lol

I like them. They look like Tenzo wheels. Are they?

Yeah I know haha we finished at 4 in the morning and went out for some quick pictures lol, when I get a chance I'll take some day pictures.

If I ever got the riser blocks I'd have to fill in where it says "GT-FOUR", unless I had the engine and all to go with it. tongue.gif That aside it looks nice.

Just some quick updates.

Installed a 7th gen short shifter with a Blox weighted shift knob, shifts are so much smoother now


Bought JDM tails off fhalperformance on the forums here, love them!


I especially enjoyed the box it came in tongue.gif

Got my JDM cupholders and TRD style rear splitters from Full-Throttle today! After spending what seemed like years trying to rip open the package which seemed like it was packed in preparation for the apocalypse, I finally got them out to reveal their beauty smile.gif

Also thinking of shaving the letters on my risers because I feel bad whenever people ask me about my GT-Four haha rolleyes.gif
And maybe repainting them a flat black to match my wheels. Thoughts?
