So I have run into a little problem, that is my wheel bearings are starting to go. I assume that is what the WAWAWAWAWAWA sounds is when I make a turn. But anyways, I am just hoping I could get some insight to see what everyone's thoughts were for E-Bay products and whether I was getting ripped of or if a product is fake, low/good quality so on and so forth. I have a 1994 GT-Four ST205 chassis and I had to turn to E-Bay UK. Also if anyone knows what I can get domestically that is compatible, I'm all ears!

Anyways I have many options for wheel bearings on E-Bay. I posted all of the links for review. So my question, has anyone purchased off of any of these sellers and if so which ones would be the best quality product?

Go to the dealer and get some OEM bearings they are the best way to go IMO. All the aftermarket ones I've used have failed rather quickly

If it's the front, you need actual ST205 ones which you can buy at tcbparts.co.uk, but if you need rears, i have a brand new set if you're interested.

Thanks!!! I don't think that I need rear ones. I believe it is the front driver side (right side) bearing. I'll find out soon...

I was under the impression the ST205 / ST204 wheel bearings are the same... you'll need to cross reference the part numbers to see if that is true... IF it is... I would go with the Timken bearings and seals - high quality and decent price. Also, make sure you buy *NEW* axle nuts... they are a one use item - There is a TSB out on that from Toyota...

SO I took everything apart and tested out the existing bearings checking for noise with a stethoscope... Sounds like both the front bearings are starting to go.

Sucks now instead of one bearing, I need to grab 2. Azian_Advanced, have you ordered off of that site you advised?

yeah, i ordered two front bearings for my ST205.
note that tcbparts will give you koyo branded bearings, which are the same as OEM.
you'll also get the 'kit' and not just the bearing so you'll get new (required) inner/outer dust seals, snap ring, and a sachet of bearing grease.

Im sure OP has found his answer but just to chime in the GT4 and other 6th gen models do share the same bearing...Cross referenced on toyodiy.com and it comes with the same part number yet the alpha-numeric ending has me confused. I think it may have something to do with the manufactuer. Otherwise personally i have used US bearings on my 205 as they are cheaper than the "from toyota dealership" here in japan.

I hope you're referring to the rear wheel bearings being the same as the ST204 because the fronts are not. The front wheel bearings for the ST205 have an outer diameter that's about 5mm larger than the ST204. I learned this the hard way due to incorrect information on the forums. Also, last time I checked, toyodiy doesn't actually list the part number of the ST205 front bearing for some reason.

That information i have never heard. Hold on ill post up the toyodiy charts for comparison. Also im guessing you measured the diameter yourself right? What part # did you order and also where did you order it from. Maybe this information could be useful to make sure no-body else orders the wrong one...In the meantime in these two charts it appears that the only difference is the ST205 is sold as a kit, whereas the ST204 is sold individually. Still ill look at what i ordered to make sure that the info is right!

Hey everyone!

I need your help once again... I am looking for a new wheel bearing and I have checked the TCBparts.com website... It looks as though the Toyota Celica GT Four uses the same hub flange as the USDM ST202. How I know this you ask... Well the part number for the hub flange on the GT Four shares the exact same part number as the ST202 in America... I assume that this means that it is the same... now before I sound like an ass (to assume means to make an ass out of u and me... ASS-U-ME) I wanted to make sure I was not getting the wrong information.

Anyways does this mean that they can use the same wheel bearing?

Please share your thoughts! It will be greatly appreciated in saving me quite a lot of shipping fees and other costs related!

I am sure that this issue, once resolved will help many of the 6gc owners out there who have purchased the GT Four in Canada/US can benefit from this by saving a few bucks.

So we have confirmations that all 6GC's use the same wheel bearings. I hope that this helps a lot of 6GC owners out there. You may refer to BonzaiCelica's post Here

So it looks like I ran into a problem. I am at the shop right now working on the car. We've pulled out the old bearing, and the new bearing that I purchased for the Toyota Celica is not the same... It is smaller than the original. I need a new wheel bearing for the front passenger side of a 1994 Toyota Celica GT4 with the superstrut suspension. Can anyone help?

damn, didn't read your 2nd last post. i would've told you (again) that the front wheel bearings are different. I ran into the same issue last year.
unfortunately, no other toyota (after spending some time searching) shares the same bearings as the front bearings on the ST205.
tcbparts.co.uk is your best bet. it sucks but your cars gonna have to sit for a little while.

Well....lol yup its gonna sit for a little bit so that I can find the right part... However we are going to try to contact NSK who is the original manufacturer of the wheel bearing. We have the original part number so I think that we will be able to track down a cheaper alternative than having to go to TCBPARTS and have expensive shipping from the UK.

Once I have a solution to this issue, I will share for all!!!! Till then stay tuned! (No pun intended lol)

woops okay so the front hub are same for all 6gc models no doubt. but why wouldn't a bearing be the same it puzzles me... don't worry i'll edit that post right now

Since the hubs are the same, that just proves that the bearing's inner race diameter is the same. But the bearing is pressed into the knuckle, so if the knuckles are also the same, then you can assume the bearings are all dimensionally identical between all 6gc models (neglecting bearing width).
