I just make the diagnosis and it gives me this EGR code... 7 flashes + 1 flash and is the only problem that the car has!! Don't know where to start!!!
How to fix the EGR code!! - 6G Celicas Forums
Shove a paper clip into the harness of the EGR temp sensor, gets rid of the code.
It's either caused by:
EGR temperature sensor
EGR valve
EGR modulator
EGR solenoid
Have to test them all individually to find the cause of the malfunction.

i got lucky for a few years now, i pulled out the EGR filter and cleaned it, erased the code, and never came back.

I used to have an EGR code too. I ended up fixing it by noticing a hose was disconnected under the hood. I think the previous owner must have taken off one the EGR system hoses.
Welll... The cable is in place!!! I think but after I clean the T.B the engine light turns off... The after an hour lights back again!! I think if I remove the T.B and clean everything this problem will be fix!!.... I hope!!
The way the code triggers is once it's up to temp and hits 55+ mph, if things aren't right it stores the code temporarily. The next time you drive and hit 55+ if the problem still exists it throws the code and triggers the light. The only thing that'll cause the EGR code are the things I mentioned in my first post.
