Got my clutch replaced today. Mechanic had to resurface the pressure plate and installed the new clutch.
When the car is in neutral it will vibrate and make a rhythmic chatter noise I guess. When the clutch pedal is pushed in, the noise stops. It doesn't do make the noise all the time so that's weird.
Any ideas?

What kind of noise? Is it oem clutch?
By the sounds of it right now.... I would guess it wasnt torqued down properly. Either that or the flywheel needs to be resurfaced
yeah that doesnt sound right, you never ever re-surface the pressure plate, you replace it

Why would you not get a new pressure plate when getting a new disc? and I bet he didn't replace the throw out bearing. That's most likely your chatter.
He prob took a grinder and re-surfaced it, straight edged, re-resurface and straight edged it several times. Seriously if your going to spend a ton of money on a fix get new parts.
The new clutch kit was almost $300. Wouldn't that have included everything? The mechanic I see is not a 1/2 ass kind of mechanic. He said the pressure plate was glazed over...don't know what that means. Everything shifts real nice and all.
One more thing I noticed is that when I am pulling into my driveway and change from 2nd to 1st to do that when slowing down. I can hear a sound that sounds like what I would suspect to be the clutch engaging or disengaging? I never really noticed that noise before.
