Cabin air ventilation - 6G Celicas Forums

Hey guys,

where do our cars suck the cabin air from? Is it at that gaps between the hood/bonnet and windshield, or is that just water drain? I noticed when I'm driving faster, like on a highway, air starts blowing in my face, just as the ventilation would be set to the max, even if I close it shut, nothing changes...

Also, each time I removed the central dashboard panel, I noticed that the ventilation ducts are not just dirty, but covered thick with dirt... Even if I cleaned as far as I could reach, the next time was just the same. And if I let my car sit on the sun for a day or two, it gets that "dirty old car" stink all over and I'm betting on that duct dirt to be the source of it.

Do our cars even have cabin air filter? If so, where is it located?

Our cars don't have cabin air filters. They suck air from the cowl underneath the windshield wipers between the hood and the windshield. You could remove your fan from behind the glovebox and clean that, that might get rid of some of the thick dust.
