pulling motor - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #90177 4 posts Started by CELL_PROTOTYPE_X
Anyone in the Columbus area comfortable pulling a motor? I have a ton of parts ready to be installed and I'm looking to save some money and gain some knowledge by pulling the motor myself. Unfortunately, I've never pulled a motor before so it would be nice to have a helping set of hands that actually knows what they're doing smile.gif I'll probably try to do this once it gets a little cooler out but wanted to reach out and see if anyone would be willing to help.

Thanks!

Oh damn I just realized you meant Columbus Ohio... I was thinking Columbus NJ for a second. Good luck though! The first times always the hardest
the easiest way is disconnect the harness from the ECU, pull it up through the fire wall. pull the engine and transmission together.

here is a guide I wrote for pulling a 2ZZ from a 7th gen. some stuff will be similar, things like the axles, and engine mounts. the 2ZZ and 7A are backwards meaning intake and exhaust are on opposite sides. but you should see the differences

Thanks Smaay. I actually stumbled across your write up when researching how to remove the motor. This will be helpful for sure.
