Yes, as it says in the title..finally a Celica.
About 3 weeks ago I purchased a 1998 2.0 GT with 130.000 miles and in a pretty good condition overall. Both the interior and exterior are in very good condition and mechanically the car has 2 faults:
1. clunking noise on the rear end. That's because of the droplinks and ARB bushes. I tried to change them yesterday but one of the droplinks is stuck so I have to go to a garage to change them.
2. I noticed a very small oil leak. After not moving the car for more than a day I found a spot(less than a square inch) under it. At the last mot the car had as an advisory one oil leak but the owner told me it was the sump seal and he changed it. I don't really know what to think about that .

Other than that....I LOVE the car and is something that I always wanted.

Welcome to the forum! Could try and see where the oil leak is coming from, but being it's so small I'm not sure if I would really worry about it.

Thanks Box!
I am not worried about the leak but I would like to sort it out.
Now I need to change the droplinks and the ARB bushes asap because the clunking noise is driving me mad biggrin.gif. I have to cut the droplinks with a grinder as they are rusted and stuck. When I tried to remove them I rounded the bolts frown.gif

I just found a nice kit on ebay. I will change my dials to white and the dial light to red&white biggrin.gif

TODAY TOMORROWTOYOTA
So...plans for this weekend:
1. Change the damn droplinks and rear sway bushes
2. change the dials from black to white(ordered the kit today).

TODAY TOMORROWTOYOTA
Why respray it? Is it a factody color? Anyway it look good it's a nice color! What about a TRD spats or an SS-III kit?

Yes, it's a factory color.
If I will respray it, it will be the same colour. The paint is not in very good condition, although I know it looks ok in the pic.
I have the spats or the SSIII kit on my list. I had a look on ebay but they seem a bit hard to find.

And how do you feel about the new poly-bushes?

I will post a night pic but first I need to find a way to increase the light. After applying the white stickers there isn't too much light coming through frown.gif. I need to find a way to fix that.
The polybushes feel totally different. The suspensions feels a bit stiffer. I will change the ones on the front too soon. Actually I plan to change all the bushes with polybushes.

Where did you bought the polibushes? I found a kit on Ebay from UK and they are at reasonable price... tongue.gif

Hi guys!
I have a very small misfire and I plan to change the plugs and the distributor cap. Any suggestions? What plugs should I go for? Any specific distributor cap?
Also even if there are 20 degrees C outside the car still revs pretty high 1600-1700rpm when I start it with a cold engine. is that normal?
thanks!

TODAY TOMORROWTOYOTA
Toyota parts, IK20's for the plugs.

See the 3S-GE repair manual in the NA sticky for the misfire.

Thanks Rusty!
What do you think about the high revs? is that something normal?

TODAY TOMORROWTOYOTA
yup that's normal cold start

Yeah they will fit, if they are for the 3rd Gen 3S-GE out of the MR2. Bit of a gimmick imo

I'll give them a try.
