and so here's a dilemma... - 6G Celicas Forums

So, some of you know we have a bunch of cars. Like, a lot. We have a major dilemma (and by we, I mean I, but the wife will undoubtedly have some sort of say)..

We have a 2003 BMW 325xi with 7 Dinan points. It has 160k miles, tons of new parts, and generally runs well. However, we both agree that it's not the car for us (it's missing a pedal). I suggested we sell or trade for a 6GC with a 3SGTE swap. She suggested I do something very vulgar to myself. We have an X5 3.0 6spd for family truckster duties. I would ideally like 3 6GCs in the driveway (1MZ, 3SGTE, and a random stock one). We're 2/3rds there already. I'm not willing to dump my Skyline, she isn't willing to budge on another Celica (we picked one up early in the week and are fixing it up to sell or drive, not sure yet). She's a Honda gal, I'm a 6GC/VW guy. We have the room now that we've dumped some cars and are selling the BMW.

I have a feeling if I use my bonus to buy one, you all might be reading about me in the obituaries, but I think it'd be worth it until the brakes go out because she cut the lines. wink.gif

Does she have a car to call her own, something that she actually wants? If not she should; let her have the 325xi proceeds to get something. It's not about what you want, it's about what she wants. tongue.gif

She has a 2001 Integra Type-R that she bought new and babies. It's getting a J-Swap right now since the B18C5 blew up. I think she would marry that car if she could. Every night she kisses it goodnight and hugs it, which is more than I get some nights haha.

She really wants a new Civic Si, but until the home equity loan is paid, that isn't happening. We refuse to have a car payment, and that is something we both agree on. I say for a 4-door we should have a new Evolution, she says Si. I argue AWD, she argues VTEC. Agree to disagree Isuppose. Oh, and I built her her dream garage, so I say 3SGTE Celica. That didn't work too well.

Hmm, well that's fair enough then. As long as you didn't blow it up anyway. tongue.gif

Starting with the Evo IX it had MIVEC, same thing as VTEC. wink.gif

No, I didn't blow it up. It spun a bearing and shot a rod through the block. I have to say though, for most of its 134,000 miles, it was run hard, saw plenty of track time, and lived in VTEC. We're not chalking it up as anything else except that the motor had enough.
Before I got into my anti-FWD mindset I thought about a GS-R or Type-R Integra. Finding one not riced out is next to impossible though.
