USDM vs. JDM - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #90663 8 posts Started by xsi671stuntman
Does anyone know if a JDM fender will fit on a US model? If there is a difference what is the difference in parts that i will need. I am trying to get a gt4 model bumper from a facelift model to fit onto a preface lift. Oh! and does a preface lift model and face lift model make a difference?
I believe the only difference is the side marker/light locations. That's the only mod you'll need to do. Other than that. Its interchangeable.

Assuming that it is from a hatch to another hatch, it should.

If from a vert to hatch or a coupe, it isn't. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The coupe and liftback are identical from the doors forward. Fenders are a direct swap regardless of market, body, or progression of the 6GC. Though with just doing the bumper of the GT-4 you'll have the inverse problem of those that just install the GT-4 hood.

Fenders on a vert were different. Coupe and liftback are the same. Hoods stayed the same throughout all the model years. Pre- and post-facelift bumpers are interchangeable, apart from the fog lights in the facelift bumper.

^^^this, but you have to extend the wires for the sidemarker back towards the door.. Not a mission critical component or a difficult task to perform though.

If you want it to be true JDM side markers, you have to splice into the turn signals cause that's what they actually are overseas; turn signals, not side markers
