the post was written before (or inspired by an old post before) injen or anyone made a product for the US Celica.

in the past people used honda intakes because it gave them access to plenty of pipe to chop up to suit. now-a-days theres off the shelf for everything aswell as plenty of alloy pipe supplies and alloy welders that you can make/buy/have made your own intake to suit your desires. this info is out dated but still good reference to give you an idea of one way to do it

to me the Honda kit just gives you enough pipe so that you can run it back down into the fender like the stock airbox does.
the Celica has a cold air intake from the factory really, up the little duct in the nose and into the factory airbox. but you'll get better airflow through a nice round pipe instead of the skinny little duct on the factory airbox.
they say the colder, denser air is much better than the hot air from the engine compartment.
but I'm not sure just how big of a difference it would make compared to the celica kit which would be drawing in hot air.

CAI's really don't make that much of a difference at all, power wise.
They claim 10 hp, but it really doesn't do much else either than soud, and a slightly better flow.
