So, I was bidding on a diecast model (fooled you for a minute, didn't I) GT-4 Celica, but the bid was going to end at 5AM, so I asked Daniel if he is going to be awake and wants to snatch it, if I get outbid. Long story short, we got chatting about this and that, got to know each other better and he decided he wants to send the GT-4 as a gift since he won it.

Thank you, Daniel for the awesome gift, I'll return the favor!







And I got another package in the mail too, "Castrol Toyota Celica #1 Rally Car"



I think I will modify the black one as an alarm remote/keychain and the Castrol one will sit on my desk.

no it doesn't! The stock gt4 wheels are beautiful

How's the paint coming along? I got my two spares in today so I'll be getting started on painting one and making the other into a keychain this Sunday.

It's a failure, I have yet to find the proper way. The brushed paint looked bad.

I'm going to try to tape mine off and spray paint it. It might be a total failure but it's worth a shot.

That's exactly what I did next and it looked bad too.
The fault might be in the spray can in a way, after several days it's still kinda soft.
I also had a problem with it running, I guess it's so small that I should spray one side(top one) at a time, let it dry, rotate and spray again.

I think part of the problem is I sanded the original paint very lightly. I am going to clean up the spray paint and sand even more.

I don't know if I can get all the rally decals off of mine but if I can, I'd only need to paint the roof. But it's so small and since it isn't flat, I can see where spray paint might be very difficult.

It's not decals, but paint. But it might be layered on top of the white. Maybe try to get them off with paint thinner, start with somewhere small, or the roof since it's getting painted.

A little bit of time, a lot of Q tips, and some nail polish remover, and you get this:



I had Brigette do the finer details so we could leave the Toyota emblem on the front bumper and "GT-Four" on the wing since our car has matching decals. She's working on getting the roof painted right now. It's looking awesome. I think the keychain will be painted to match the car as well , but she'll have to take the keychain. It'll get too scratched up in my pocket.

Little bit of touch up left, then turn it into a keychain. Then paint a second one to match the real car as well. Then a my third will stay painted as the rally car.

Nope, sitting on my desk, neglected, with an ugly paint job.

I'll have to get around with it soon.
